DISCOVER WHAT XR CAN MEAN FOR YOU

Heijmans VR-TRAINING

Collision hazard

Working along active roads and construction sites poses significant risks. In this VR training, developed in collaboration with Heijmans, participants experience realistic situations where traffic, machinery, and work pressure come together.

Heijmans VR-TRAINING

Collision hazard

Serious XR is proud to announce a partnership with the construction company Heijmans. This collaboration introduces innovative learning opportunities for their operations through the NEN 3140 VP Virtual Reality (VR) application, specifically designed for toolbox meetings.

What are you learning

in this training?

The training focuses on collision hazard awareness, placing the learner in the role of a surveyor working along the roadside. This role is intentionally chosen: surveying requires deep concentration, which often means reduced awareness of the surrounding environment. In VR, we replicate this mental focus and show how easily dangerous situations can arise and how to prevent them. This scenario not only applies to surveyors, but also reflects the risks faced by many professionals working near active roads and construction sites.

  • Identify and wear the correct safety equipment

  • Safely pass active excavators and moving machinery

  • Recognise and follow safe routes across an active construction site

  • Correctly place measuring equipment without creating unsafe situations

  • Follow essential safety procedures, such as:

    • No phone use while working

    • Never entering private property without permission

  • Stay continuously aware of their surroundings while performing measurements

Why VR

Hazardous substances are often underestimated in daily work. VR makes risks visible and tangible by placing learners in realistic situations where choices matter. This results in better awareness, safer routines and stronger compliance with safety regulations.
